DuckTunes

Oftentimes, music is the most underrated aspect of video games, especially some of the old school titles. When I think back to my favorite music compositions of the 8-bit era, my mind is immediately drawn to the music of the moon level in Ducktales for the Nintendo Entertainment System.

The music for the game was composed by Yoshihiro Sakaguchi, who also worked on other classic NES titles including the first two Mega Man games as well as 1942 and 1943. The moon level music is one of this most popular works and was covered by the band, The Advantage who has released two albums reproducing classic NES tunes (they're definitely worth looking into.)

Take a listen for yourself and hopefully it will take you back to the classic era of gaming, or, if you're new to the game, it will make you appreciate that games in 80s and 90s weren't just about engaging gameplay.
